Antiqued oak coffee & end table

I saw a really great antiqued finish on a console table at Homegoods recently and I knew I wanted to duplicate it. This coffee & end table set was the perfect choice to try it on.

Oak 3-Drawer Nightstand

This item has been sold
There was nothing structurally wrong with this cute little nightstand from Harrison Furniture. It was just the dated finish that needed to be updated. I did that with a warm soft taupe chalk paint.

Vintage Jacobean Dining Set

IMG_0059
This unbelievable Jacobean, oak dining table set had been my customer’s family for decades. It’s constructed of solid oak and meant to last several generations. But after my customer’s first unsuccessful try at staining it gray, she brought it to me and explained her vision. No more dark blue-gray. It needed to be a soft, warm, taupe-gray. so that it would blend in with her elegant dining room features. I ended up mixing a paint wash of the same paint color we used on the base, and used it to “stain” the table top. It was the perfect solution!

Solid Oak Vintage Dresser

unnamed
One of my customer’s was able to get her hands on this amazing, solid oak, vintage dresser and she knew a good thing when she saw it. All it needed was a fresh color and some new knobs! She settled on this beautiful grayish green color from Sherwin Williams called Oyster Bay. After adding some new crystal knobs, the piece was a knockout!

Vintage Curio Cabinet

This amazing piece is a family heirloom. But one, unfortunately, that looked so dated my customer had no place in her home that that she wanted to display it. The solution? A pale gray blue paint, with distressed edges, and covered with a dry brushed glaze to make it look aged.

Depression Era oak table

IMG_7347
This vintage, oak kitchen table has definitely been around the block a few times. The former owner thought it might be from the 1920s, and I suspect that’s correct because of the “Depression Era” style of the legs.
The veneer (which is typical for the period) is peeling off, and chipped, and something or someone, has been chewing on various parts. Once I patch up all the missing parts though, this table will be beautiful once again and hopefully it’ll be around for another 100+ years!

60″ Round Oak Pedestal Table

This item has been sold 60inchRoundOaktableThis table is enormous. It’s the perfect size for a dining room and would fit at least 6 people. And because it’s round it’ll be easier for your guests to maneuver around, especially in smaller rooms. It’s solid oak, with a funky pedestal, and brass details on the feet.

Large nightstand / Small dresser

This item has been sold IMG_7310
When I saw this dresser I knew it would make the perfect nightstand. The trend right now is to use small dressers as nightstands, and to mix them with other small tables. To go for the mismatched look. This small dresser would be a perfect fit in a bedroom that’s going for this look!

I chose a really soft, pale grayish blue, and gave it some very light distressing. It was finished off with 2 coats of wax which gives it a soft sheen. Not only is the piece great for a master bedroom, but it would also work as a dresser in a child or baby’s room. Or maybe you want to live on the edge and use it as a sideboard in your dining room. So many possibilities!

Oval-ish Oak Dining Table

This item has been sold IMG_7380
This solid oak table had quite a 70s vibe going on when I found it. But the beautiful shape, and intricate carved details, screamed to be showcased with some paint and glaze! My customer chose Glidden’s Teal Lake with a dark gray stained top.

It easily seats 6 without the leaf, and 8 with it.

I found this set when googling one night and I think it has the exact same vibe we’re going for with ours:

Oak dining table set

IMG_6751
This table and set of 6 chairs had seen much better days. After years of abuse from 3 children it was time for a change. We chose a  fresh white paint to replace the distressed ivory paint, and dark walnut stain to update the natural finish on the top and seats. Now, this solid, dependable set, will take the family through another decade or more!
