Vintage Hitchcock chair bench

This item has been sold
I found these adorable reproduction Hitchcock chairs online when I was searching for chairs suitable for making a small bench. When nestled in next to each other they make the perfect sized bench for an entry foyer, for putting on your shoes in the morning. It’s the perfect sized bench for the foyer that’s not too large.

Vintage Walnut 1-drawer End Table

This item has been soldimage
This solid walnut, vintage table was refinished in a bright white. The edges were given just a hint of distressing, to show off the corners and details, and we even kept the original pull because it was so cute. Just updated the color to an oil rubbed bronze.  Crazy, I know!

MCM Lane End Table/Nightstand

This item has been soldIMG_8485
I was a bit saddened to find that someone had painted this elegant little vintage Mid-Century Modern (MCM) end table. Which, coming from someone who paints everything, is HUGE! Such beautiful walnut (I’m assuming) all covered up with a horrible, cut rate paint job. According to the serial number, this piece dates to 1962. So, with a bit of elbow grease, I was able to strip off all the ivory paint so you could once again see the beautiful grain. Some gray stain modernized the piece and gave it more off an industrial/rustic edge. But you know I can’t leave well enough alone right? So I added a subtle sheen of metallic paint in the form of a stencil around the top edges. A little bit more gray stain on top of the paint and it softened the edges a bit more.
The bottom was painted in a beautiful seafoam blue. It’s soft enough that it could read as a neutral, or use it as a pop of color in your room.  A tiny bit of distressing was added to the edges just to give it a bit more dimension and texture.
What’s even better about this piece you ask? If you position it the wide way, it would make a fantastic night stand. Position it the narrower way and it’s an end table. I can totally see this sitting next to a bed! That bottom shelf is just calling out for a basket to hold all your stuff!

Vintage walnut accent chair

This item has been sold BeigeChair
This chair was a Goodwill score, which for me at least, are very few and far between. Most of the (very limited) furniture selections at all of the Goodwill stores in my NC area are junk. Lots of pressed wood, laminate furniture, or upholstered pieces that have seen their better days. But this time I found this great, solid wood accent chair. I can picture it nestled next to a foyer table in an entry way, as a great place to sit and put your shoes on. Or maybe sitting in the corner of your dining room, for when you need a little extra seating.  Then there’s always the old stand by – using it as a desk chair.  I painted the chair a neutral sand color, and then distressed the edges just a bit to give it some dimension.  The fabric is burlap-colored (but soft!), with teal blue design.

Oak dining table set

IMG_6751
This table and set of 6 chairs had seen much better days. After years of abuse from 3 children it was time for a change. We chose a  fresh white paint to replace the distressed ivory paint, and dark walnut stain to update the natural finish on the top and seats. Now, this solid, dependable set, will take the family through another decade or more!

Maple coffee & end table set

This item has been sold IMG_7170
Gorgeous, solid wood coffee table and end table set. Really pretty details on the legs. They started with a horrible orangey polyurethaned finish, but I transformed them with a pale greenish blue paint from Behr called Frozen Pond.  The tops got a dark walnut stain topped with polycrylic for durability.

Walnut nightstand

This item has been soldPink nightstand - Pennsylvania House Furniture
Yes, it’s pink! What little girl (or big girl for that matter) wouldn’t want this pink nightstand next to her bed? It’s super high quality, made by Pennsylvania House Furniture, and is in excellent condition. It got several coats of bubblegum pink paint, and 6 new large glass knobs. A little distressing here, a little distressing there, and it’s ready to go. Or maybe you need a little extra makeup storage in your bathroom? Just think of all the things you could fit in these 3 roomy drawers.
