There was nothing structurally wrong with this cute little nightstand from Harrison Furniture. It was just the dated finish that needed to be updated. I did that with a warm soft taupe chalk paint.

Vintage Cherry Dining Table
Coffee & End Table Set
This set is solid wood, which is SO hard to find nowadays. I painted it with a super pale gray that has a hint of blue in it. Then lightly distressed the edges and added a little bit of gray glaze pinstriping. It’s pale enough that it can be used like a neutral.

Depression Era Dining Table & 3 Chairs
I’m loving the legs on this vintage, wood Depression Era table. Not the routine, 4 leg, or pedestal style. Instead it has 6 legs. The table, more than likely, dates back to the early 30’s and is surprisingly good condition for a table of this age. The plan, at the moment, is to restain the top, but paint the base and skirt. There’s only 3 chairs at the moment but I’m going to start searching for a 4th, to complete the set.

Vintage Jacobean Dining Set
This unbelievable Jacobean, oak dining table set had been my customer’s family for decades. It’s constructed of solid oak and meant to last several generations. But after my customer’s first unsuccessful try at staining it gray, she brought it to me and explained her vision. No more dark blue-gray. It needed to be a soft, warm, taupe-gray. so that it would blend in with her elegant dining room features. I ended up mixing a paint wash of the same paint color we used on the base, and used it to “stain” the table top. It was the perfect solution!

How to choose the right paint color!
One of the main themes with my customers, is what color to choose for their piece. Most of the time there’s more than one “right” color. But that doesn’t keep people from debating for days, or sometimes weeks, about whether this blue or that blue is best. So when I came across this palette of color choices I knew I had to pass it on. Not only did she name 16 amazing colors, but she included pictures so you can get a really good idea of how they’ll look in the end. So do yourself a favor and go check out her amazing picks!
Beach House Chic Dining Table
This table was brought to me by a customer who owned a beach house rental. It wasn’t in the worst shape ever, but it needed a little sprucing up. The problem was, it had to be renter friendly since it was going to take a beating. She chose this warm, pale gray, which is PERFECT for a beach house rental, and then I distressed the edges just a bit. That way, if the renters started beating it up, no one would know!
