This 5-piece dining set had seen better days. Lots of daily use had taken a toll. Not to mention the colors were feeling a bit dated. My customer wanted to use it in her dining room and knew she wanted a white/gray combo but didn’t know exactly how to incorporate that. Our solution? To lighten it up and change the color scheme. The top and the 4 chairs were painted gray. The table skirt and pedestal went white. We used a cool gray that complimented the darker gray on her walls.

Butcher Block breakfast table
This small breakfast table is perfect for those people who are short on dining space. Even though it’s small, it doesn’t lack for quality. The top is solid butcherblock and the legs are solid wood as well. It would also be a great desk or craft sized table!

Elegant Mahogany Dining Table
This super elegant, solid mahogany dining table needed a whole new style. I accomplished that by adding a matte gray finish on the top, and a bright white on the legs and skirt. Now it leans more towards a farmhouse chic style than a traditional style. The chairs and bench were finished out to match.

Vintage Jacobean Dining Set
This unbelievable Jacobean, oak dining table set had been my customer’s family for decades. It’s constructed of solid oak and meant to last several generations. But after my customer’s first unsuccessful try at staining it gray, she brought it to me and explained her vision. No more dark blue-gray. It needed to be a soft, warm, taupe-gray. so that it would blend in with her elegant dining room features. I ended up mixing a paint wash of the same paint color we used on the base, and used it to “stain” the table top. It was the perfect solution!

Beach House Chic Dining Table
This table was brought to me by a customer who owned a beach house rental. It wasn’t in the worst shape ever, but it needed a little sprucing up. The problem was, it had to be renter friendly since it was going to take a beating. She chose this warm, pale gray, which is PERFECT for a beach house rental, and then I distressed the edges just a bit. That way, if the renters started beating it up, no one would know!

Whitewashed Cherry Table
The only thing wrong with this table (if you don’t count the glitter glue and magic marker on the top), was the color. SO orangey-red! The cherry wood itself, with the noticeable grain, is absolutely gorgeous and I knew it would be a shame to cover it up if it wasn’t absolutely necessary. So that’s why I decided to strip it down to bare wood and give it a night, light, whitewashing. So Much Better!
