Mid Century Modern Dresser

This item has been soldMid Century Modern 4-drawer DresserYeah, it’s done. I was really getting excited as I worked on this because I had a picture of the finished piece in my head the whole time. And I’m happy to say that it turned out just as cute as I’d imagined. I can SO see this piece in a nursery, for storing diapers, wipes, etc. I can even picture it being used as a mini linen closet in an upstairs hallway. Or you can go the standard route and use it as a……dresser.  So many possibilities!

It has a beautiful, waxed finish, to protect it from all the scratches and dings, gorgeous oil rubbed bronze pulls, to add just the right amount of bling, and the sexy tapered legs have retained their natural finish, to complement the dark drawer pulls.

Before The Restoration:

I went to the hardware store today to get paint. I my mind was completely set on yellow. Some shade of yellow….probably pale, and neutral, but definitely yellow. So how in the world did I walk out with gray? I was looking through the yellow swatches and I happened to glance up toward the grays and my eyes fell on this one in particular….Antique Silver. It was so pretty that none of the other swatches I had in my hand compared to it.

I immediately started thinking about all the possibilities for this little dresser, once it’s complete. It’ll be perfect in a baby’s room…and of course it’ll work right up through college. But this would also be great in a bedroom hallway….I’m picturing it with sheets n’ things, sort of like a mini linen closet. Or how about a foyer?….it’s got lots of drawers to store everything that you need right by the front door. Scarves, hats, dog leashes, umbrellas….so many possibilities.

Now it’s time to start painting!

  1. Hey Kristen,
How tall is this dresser? Color you are painting it? Adding knobs?
My daughter loves your work too!

    Thank you.

Hi Julie. The dresser measures 28″ wide, 40.5″ tall (including the feet, which are removable), and 16″ deep. I take pre-orders for items so if you ever see something you like in the Coming Soon tab you can always do a Pre-Order for that item. That way, you can choose the paint, stain, and/or hardware for that piece. For this particular piece, I was thinking of a really pale lime green, with glass drawer pulls. The final price would be $175. 50% is due up front for pre-orders, with the balance due upon completion. Thanks so much for your interest. Feel free to let me know if you have any other questions!
