Modern cube-style end table with slide-out tray

So one of my BFFs is building a new “dream” house and this is one of the very few items that’s sticking around for the move. The problem was, it needed an extreme makeover. Out with anything modern, or dark, and in with the ‘Cottage Chic’ style!

So the plan was to whitewash it with bright white paint, give it a brown glaze to give it a lived in, antique feel, and then add some pale silver glaze to gray-down the brown tones. The old brass knob on the pull-out tray is getting a spritz of oil rubbed bronze spray paint, and voila’…..Cottage Chic!!! But of course my mind started spinning when this was half done and I thought….wouldn’t this look great with some nickel nailhead trim around the upholstered squares….to tie in with the nailhead trim on her new island stools? Well of course it would!
