How amazing is this vintage piece? Well, until someone had the bright idea to use it for paint storage, and then leave it out in the rain that is. It’s obviously had a tough life so far but I had bit plans to change all that. My fantastic customer, Caroline, noticed this sad little table when she came to pick up her amazingly gorgeous Duncan Phyfe table, and she thought this would make the perfect addition to her new “tea” room.
The plan was to choose colors and a look, to match her existing, cherished, French style chair. See pic! Beautiful!!!
She didn’t necessarily want pink, but something that would blend nicely, and maybe pull in the gold. Here were 2 inspiration photos she sent. I ended up choosing the pale aqua paint color, as shown in the dresser. But then added the bright gold in double pinstripes, which I pulled from the French style chair, and the other inspiration photo.
This piece is so versatile that if she ever decides she doesn’t want a tea room anymore, it would also work as a sideboard in a dining room, as a credenza in the office, as a foyer table, or even as a desk (with one of the leaves up), nestled behind the sofa!
