I’ll be honest, this very rustic nightstand had some issues with it when I found it. The chalk paint finish on the legs felt, well…..chalky. The sides were starting to split a bit. And the top had some nail pops. In my world, none of those things are necessarily horrible. But there was definitely room for improvement!

Pipe & 2×12 Bookshelf
I’ve been seeing these shelves and tables all over Pinterest, so of course I had to make one for myself. I used galvanized pipe, flanges and connectors, and then added casters underneath so that I could move it to clean. The wood shelves are simple 2×12’s. All the parts are available at Home Depot. You can even have the pipes cut to size and threaded there!
The picture above shows them unfinished. I was going for the really rustic look. But then I ended up using up some leftover stain to deepen the color a bit. See pics below.
