My customer asked that I update their 70s style end table with a satiny black finish. It had some cracks, and a crummy paint job, but nothing that wasn’t fixable.

Chunky 70s End Table
Thomasville Furniture Nesting Tables
This set of 3 nesting tables from Thomasville Furniture was still structurally sound when I found them. They tops had some blemishes and scratches, but I knew there was still a ton of life left in them. I actually couldn’t find any marks on them verifying that they were Thomasville but the family I bought them from assured me that’s where they purchased them from.

Vintage Serving Tray
I found this little gem at a yard sale. I’d been looking for a tray to use on an ottoman in my home, but I was having trouble finding one that I liked that had nice low sides. This one was perfect. Except, of course, for the condition that it was in. It had a dated finish and a few fairly bad cracks on the edges. All fixable of course! After cleaning it up and fixing the cracks I gave it a pale, gray blue paint job, then distressed the edges. Then I finished it off with some water-based sealer. Just because.

Set of 2 Narrow Cherry End Tables
Set of 2, narrow cherry end tables. Each have 1 small drawer on the lower shelf. These nice petite tables are perfect for the family room or living room that are tight on space. They were given a beachy vibe with pale taupe paint and topped with a white glaze. We even kept the original pulls and just gave them an update with paint.

Small maple table
Beautiful, simple, modern…..that’s what I see when I look at this rectangular maple table. I can picture it in a breakfast area, a craft room, a playroom (for homework!!), or even as a desk. My customer requested a pale gray paint (just a tiny hint of it), and a dark top. The results were incredible. I painted her chairs to match and then reupholstered the seat cushions with a classic stripe, gray & white fabric. It’s the perfect size for her small breakfast area!
Rock Maple Captain’s Chairs
This was a major score. A set of 2 captain’s chairs in super heavy rock maple. Overall they’re in great shape. A few scratches and nicks….the downside was really the fabric. The foam beneath the fabric felt hard and crumbly to the touch. And when I finally removed the 2 layers of hideous fabric I discovered that the foam had completely disintegrated and turned to sand. Blech!

Vintage Walnut 1-drawer End Table
Oval Rustic Coffee Table
This table was brought to me by a customer who wanted to update it from cream, to black. The finish was extremely rough and you could see lots of brush strokes. I stripped off 3 layers of paint and smoothed out the surface as much as possible, then coated it with a warm black paint. A little distressing along the edges helped give it that rustic, lived in look. I left a little bit of the old paint underneath so that it would show through on the distressed edges. Very shabby chic!
